Question:

125 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Health and Children the position regarding the new district hospital building for Dungarvan, County Waterford; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [27156/01]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 124 and 125 together.

The provision of health services in County Waterford is a matter for the South Eastern Health Board. I understand that the board has set aside an amount of £2.177 million – 2.764 million – for the proposed development of St. Vincent's Hospital, Dungarvan, from the indicative funding notified under the national development plan. I am pleased to advise that I have recently given approval to the board to establish a project team for this development.
