Vol. 543 No. 3

Written Answers. - Tax Rebates.

Beverley Flynn

Question:

104 Ms Cooper-Flynn asked the Minister for Finance the reason a person (details supplied) in County Mayo has had his net pension reduced by the Department of Finance for the past six months. [27110/01]

The reduction in net pension is explained by the fact that the person in question has been on emergency tax since 5 April 2001 due to the Paymaster General's Office – PMG's – not having received a new tax credit certificate from the Revenue Commissioners. The correct tax credit details have now been received by the PMG's and will be reflected in the pension cheque of 22 November. The appropriate tax refund will also be included in this cheque.
