Question:

47 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Public Enterprise the revenue from ticket sales and the total number of paying passengers on Dublin Bus, the DART and the various urban bus services operated by Bus Éireann. [27391/01]

The information sought by the Deputy is set out beneath in respect of year ending 31 December 2000:

Iarnród Éireann

Total number of passengers on the DART was 19.6 million and on other suburban rail was three million. Total revenue from these services was £23.7 million or 30.09 million.
Bus Átha Cliath
Total number of passengers was 187.5 million and total revenue generated from these services was £108.7 million or 138.02 million.
Bus Éireann
Total number of passengers on provincial city services was 19.1 million and total revenue generated from these services was £12.5 million or 15.87 million.
