Vol. 543 No. 5

Written Answers. - Domiciliary Allowance.

John McGuinness

Question:

301 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason an application by persons (details supplied) in County Kilkenny for a domiciliary allowance was refused; if the decision will be reversed; and if the appeal against this decision and the issuing of a decision on the appeal can be expedited. [27529/01]

Responsibility for the assessment of entitlement and payment of the domiciliary care allowance rests with the relevant health board. My Department has therefore asked the chief executive officer, South-Eastern Health Board to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and reply to him directly.
