301 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason an application by persons (details supplied) in County Kilkenny for a domiciliary allowance was refused; if the decision will be reversed; and if the appeal against this decision and the issuing of a decision on the appeal can be expedited. Responsibility for the assessment of entitlement and payment of the domiciliary care allowance rests with the relevant health board. My Department has therefore asked the chief executive officer, South-Eastern Health Board to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and reply to him directly.
