Vol. 544 No. 1

Written Answers. - Visa Applications.

Charles Flanagan

Question:

205 Mr. Flanagan asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will expedite the issue of a holiday visa to persons (details supplied) who wish to visit this country; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [28197/01]

The visa applications in question have been refused because my Department is not satisfied, on the basis of the documentation supplied, that the applicants will observe the standard conditions of a visit visa. In this regard the Deputy may wish to note that my Department is generally reluctant to grant visas to persons whose sole reference in Ireland has met them only once and during a brief visit period.
