190 Dr. O'Hanlon asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the water, sewerage and housing schemes which have been approved in counties Monaghan and Cavan since 1997; the stage of development of each project; the overall cost; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Details of major schemes approved under my Department's water services investment programme in counties Monaghan and Cavan since 1997 are set out in Tables 1 and 2 following. These would be in addition to block allocations to the county councils concerned in respect of the devolved rural water programme.

The total amounts of capital expenditure on the local authority housing construction-acquisition programme – which is funded by a combination of Exchequer capital grants and internal capital receipts – in counties Monaghan and Cavan for each of the years 1997 to 2001 are set out in Tables 3 and 4.

The numbers of dwellings started – acquired and the number of dwellings completed – acquired for the years 1997 to 2000 in counties Monaghan and Cavan are set out in Tables 5 and 6.

Details of the numbers of dwellings started and completed in these counties for 2001 will be published in my Department's Annual Housing Statistics Bulletin.
