Vol. 544 No. 3

Written Answers. - Waste Management.

Dan Neville

Question:

235 Mr. Neville asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when a farm development under the waste management scheme will be sanctioned for a person (details supplied) in County Limerick. [28713/01]

An application from the person named under the scheme of investment aid for farm waste management was received in the local office of my Department in Limerick on 31 August 2001. The application was examined and it was found that an agreed assessment of tax liability issued by the Revenue Commissioners for the tax year ended 5 April 2001 was not included. The purpose of this requirement is to establish if applicants for the scheme had off-farm income in the tax year prior to application.

The applicant has been informed in writing of the requirement in relation to this matter. If the person named cannot obtain an agreed assessment of tax liability in the near future, alternative documentation may be submitted as follows: an income tax computation-statement of the computation-accounts for tax year ended 5 April 2001 certified by an accountant-tax consultant or a letter from an accountant-tax consultant or an agricultural consultant-planner confirming that the applicant had no off-farm income for the tax year ended 5 April 2001.

Once the required documentation has been submitted, the application will be examined again.
