Vol. 544 No. 3

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

John McGuinness

Question:

234 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if he will restore the payment of subsidy for 2001 to persons (details supplied) in County Kilkenny. [28712/01]

In this case payment of £776.48 was made under the 2001 area-based compensatory allowance scheme on 24 September 2001 in respect of 8.96 hectares of less severely handicapped land at £60 per hectare and including an additional sum of £238.88 under a compensation package agreed with the European Commission for farmers experiencing losses under the 2001 area-based compensatory allowance scheme. The additional sum is equal to 90% of the difference between the average sum of the headage payments under the 1998, 1999 and 2000 headage schemes and the amount payable under the 2001 area-based compensatory allowance scheme.

No applications were received in this case under the 2001 suckler cow premium, the 2001 ewe premium, 2001 slaughter premium or 2001 special beef premium schemes.
