Vol. 544 No. 3

Written Answers. - Decentralisation Programme.

Phil Hogan

Question:

257 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Finance when he will make a decision to decentralise a Government Department to Kilkenny; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [28718/01]

I am determined that decisions in relation to a new programme of decentralisation should be taken only after proper deliberation. In view of my determination in this regard, I am not in a position to say definitively when the Government will be in a position to take decisions in relation to such a programme, other than to say that such decisions will be taken as soon as is practicable after the conclusion of the ongoing deliberations, nor am I, therefore, in a position to comment on the likelihood of any particular location being included in the programme.
