288 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for Health and Children the position regarding an application by a person (details supplied) in County Carlow for a knee and hip replacement operation in Waterford Regional Hospital; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [28492/01]

Minister for Health and Children (Mr. Martin):

Responsibility for the provision of services for people living in County Carlow rests with the South-Eastern Health Board. My Department has, therefore, asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and reply directly to him.
