Vol. 544 No. 3

Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.

Alan M. Dukes

Question:

325 Mr. Dukes asked the Minister for Health and Children if his attention has been drawn to the inordinate waiting list for urgent spinal surgery at Tallaght Hospital and the fact that waiting lists for urgent spinal surgery at the hospital have been a serious source of concern to the medical profession for a number of years; and the action his Department intends taking to remedy the situation. [28873/01]

Services, including spinal surgery, for eligible patients at Tallaght Hospital are provided under an arrangement with the Eastern Regional Health Authority. My Department has asked the regional chief executive of the authority to inves tigate the matter raised and to reply to the Deputy directly.
