Question:405 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage Gaeltacht and the Islands when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will be approved for a Gaeltacht road grant; and when the application was received. [28567/01]
Written Answers. - Grant Payments.
First, I should point out that no application under scéim na mbóithre áise was received by my Department from the person referred to by the Deputy. I understand, however, that an application in respect of the same road was received in 1998 from a relation of that person.
The 1998 application has now been examined and I regret to inform the Deputy that it does not qualify for assistance under the scheme as it is a private driveway to the family home and therefore does not fulfil the conditions/criteria of the scheme.
