Vol. 544 No. 3

Written Answers. - Schools Refurbishment.

Róisín Shortall

Question:

452 Ms Shortall asked the Minister for Education and Science if his attention has been drawn to the preferred option of school management at Tullamore College to construct a completely new building rather than repair the old; if he will give permission for such works; when a decision is likely in this regard; if a decision has been reached in respect of the insurance claim submitted by the school; the amount involved; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [28542/01]

It has been brought to my attention that the preferred option of the school management at Tullamore College is to construct a completely new building. No decision can be made in this regard until the building unit of my Department is notified of the outcome of the insurance claim which is being handled by County Offaly VEC which has ownership of this school.
