461 Mr. Healy asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will approve funding for the provision of a physical education hall and internal and external painting at the vocational school, Raheen Road, Clonmel, County Tipperary. [28732/01]
My Department has agreed, in principle, to the provision of a PE hall at the school to which the Deputy refers. The planning and building unit of my Department is currently preparing PE hall templates that will standardise the construction of PE halls at second level schools. The templates will be used to plan the provision of PE halls nationally, including the hall at the school to which the Deputy refers.
The post-primary building unit of my Department has not received an application for funding for internal and external painting from the school in question.
462 Mr. Currie asked the Minister for Education and Science the reason a physical education hall at Pobalscoil Iosolde, Palmerstown, Dublin 20 did not go to tender in October (details supplied); the way in which he can justify a delay in circumstances where 500 pupils have no proper physical education facilities; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The project in question is progressing through architectural planning. The external design team is currently preparing the formal stage 4-5 submission, detail design and bill of quantities, and expects to be in a position to submit same to the building unit of my Department before the end of November 2001. Accordingly the project is not yet ready to go to tender.
463 Mrs. B. Moynihan-Cronin asked the Minister for Education and Science when stage 5 of the new sports hall at Presentation secondary school, Milltown, County Kerry will be completed; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [28734/01]
The stage 4 submission, detail design for the proposed extension project, including PE hall, at Presentation secondary school, Milltown, County Kerry was received recently in the building unit of my Department. This submission is currently being examined by the building unit's technical staff.
