An Taisce is a voluntary organisation and I have no plans to legislate to change its status.
Proposals made recently by An Taisce to the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Heritage and the Irish Language concerning the issue of whether we should have national trust legislation corresponding to that which obtains in other countries raise broad and complex questions requiring further reflection.
