Vol. 545 No. 2

Written Answers. - National Monuments.

Brian O'Shea

Question:

138 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage Gaeltacht and the Islands if she will list all the national monument preservation orders given under her official seal since she assumed office; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [30093/01]

Under the provisions of subsection (1) of the National Monuments (Amendment) Act, 1954, where it appears to me that a monument which in my opinion is a national monument in immediate danger of injury or destruction, I may, by order, undertake the preservation of such monument.

A temporary preservation order remains in force for a period of six months and then expires.

The full list of orders made under my seal is set out below.
