Vol. 545 No. 3

Written Answers. - Social Welfare Benefits

Michael Ring

Question:

137 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Social, Community and Family Affairs when a carer's allowance payment will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo. [30320/01]

The person concerned has been awarded carer's allowance at a weekly personal rate of £34.50, 43.81, and £6.60, 8.38, per week child dependant allowance. A book of payable orders has been issued to his nominated post office. Payment of any arrears due will issue shortly.

Under social welfare legislation decisions in relation to claims must be made by deciding officers and appeals officers. These officers are statutorily appointed and I have no role in regard to making such decisions.
