Vol. 545 No. 3

Written Answers. - Bovine Diseases.

Tom Hayes

Question:

76 Mr. T. Hayes asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if he expects the number of tuberculosis reactors in 2001 to be less than 35,000; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [30270/01]

I expect that the number of bovine tuberculosis reactors in 2001 will be less than 35,000. The APT, reactor animals per thousand rests, which is a good barometer of disease levels has decreased from 3.9 last year to 3.6 this year.
