The Order of Business today shall be as follows: No. 18, motion re Referral to Joint committee of proposed approval by Dáil Éireann of a proposal under the Fourth Protocol to the Treaty of Amsterdam (a proposal for a Council Regulation (EC) on jurisdiction and the recognition and enforcement of judgments in matters of parental responsibility); and No. 48, Twenty-fifth Amendment of the Constitution (Protection of Human Life in Pregnancy) Bill, 2001 Order for Report, Report and Final Stages.
It is proposed, notwithstanding anything in Standing Orders, that (1) the Dáil shall sit later than 8.30 p.m. tonight and business shall be interrupted not later than 10.00 p.m.; (2) No. 18 shall be decided without debate; and (3) notwithstanding anything in Standing Order 106 or the Order of the Dáil of 1 February 2000, the Fine Gael group shall, with regard to the Private Members' time allocated to the group this week, nominate a member of the Labour Party to proceed with No. 113, motion re medical cards, which shall be taken at 7.00 p.m. and brought to a conclusion at 10.00 p.m. tonight.
