Vol. 545 No. 4

Business of Dáil.

Before preceding to the Order of Business, may I be permitted to congratulate the Tánaiste on her marriage and wish her and her husband, Brian, many years of happiness. We are all delighted for her.

I join in the congratulations. At Cabinet this morning, we had the opportunity of formally congratulating the Tánaiste and, now again on behalf of my party and colleagues, I wish Mary and Brian well for the future.

I join the rest of the House in wishing the Tánaiste and her husband every happiness. I hope we will not have to despatch her on a long honeymoon.

On behalf of the Green Party, I wish the Tánaiste and her husband every happiness on the occasion of their recent marriage. They made an interesting choice in getting married at a small gathering, a choice which was not open to me. I envy them the intimacy of the moment and wish them well.

I wish every happiness to my constituency colleague. I am aware that, with the World Cup and things like that, this could have an adverse affect on the Opposition if it were to catch on. I hope I can rely on the Taoiseach's innate caution to ensure that there will be no further precipitous moves like this which could cost us dearly if there were an early election.

I thank all the Members, the Taoiseach, the Leaders of Fine Gael, the Labour and the Green parties, and Deputy Rabbitte for their good wishes. I hope I will get at least until the next election to enjoy my political honeymoon.
