39 Mr. J. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage Gaeltacht and the Islands the number of meetings of the EU Council for Culture and Audio-visual Affairs, both formal and informal, held since June 1997 to date in 2001; and the number of such meetings personally attended by her. [31687/01]
I refer the Deputy to my reply to Parliamentary Question No. 351 of 26 Meitheamh 2001. Since then, there was one formal meeting of the EU Council of Ministers on 5 November, which I attended. There was also one informal meeting of the Council of Ministers on 5-6 December which I was unable to attend as it coincided with budget day. I was represented at the meeting by senior officials of my Department.
