Question:

336 Dr. Upton asked the Minister for Education and Science the number of hits received by his Department's website for the year 2001; the number of staff assigned to maintain the website; the cost of maintaining the website for 2001; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [32478/01]

Based on a typical month's usage, the number of website hits for 2001 will be in excess of 5 million. The Department of Finance maintains the current website centrally and the costs incurred by my Department in 2001 amounted to £17,262. Two staff are currently assigned on a part-time basis to maintain the website.
