239 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Defence his proposals to introduce a dress uniform to the regular army for non-commissioned officers. [1712/02]

Defence Force regulations prescribe for the issue of uniforms to members of the Defence Forces. There is no provision in the relevant regulations for the provision of dress uniforms for non-commissioned personnel of the Permanent Defence Force. There are no plans or proposals to introduce such a uniform item.
