754 Mr. Stagg asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the position in relation to the review of the needs and resources model in relation to the determination of the allocation of funding to local authorities; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1691/02]
A group comprising officials of my Department and representatives of a cross section of local authorities reviewed the needs and resources model in 2001 and made a number of recommendations which were incorporated for the purpose of the 2002 allocations. I recognise that there is a continuous need to improve and refine the model and this process will continue throughout 2002.
