I understand from Údarás na Gaeltachta that the information requested by the Deputy has already been posted to the his Dáil office. Indeed, as similar information has been made available to the national media by way of a request under the Freedom of Information Act this information is, therefore, already in the public domain. The information in question was not, therefore, unobtainable. Instead an tÚdarás had not had, in the business-related absence of its chief executive, the opportunity to issue a reply to the Deputy's request of 15 January 2002 by the time he had put down his parliamentary question a few days later.
