1004 Mr. Stagg asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the Garda stations in County Kildare which have sought the provision of additional civilian clerical staff; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2400/02]
My Department has received applications for additional civilian clerical staff in the Garda stations in Naas and Kildare town. The Deputy may wish to note that my Department is obliged to operate within the authorised number of civilian staff sanctioned by the Department of Finance for the Garda area. Consequently, neither my Department nor the Garda Síochána are at liberty to create additional civilian posts without specific sanction.
