Vol. 547 No. 1

Written Answers. - Redundancy Payments.

Denis Naughten

Question:

113 Mr. Naughten asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment if, further to correspondence (details supplied), she will outline the measures she has taken to resolve the claim for redundancy of 42 people; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [1959/02]

On 18 October 2001, my Department received an application from the company in question for a 60% rebate in respect of its payment to 31 employees of the correct statutory redundancy lump sum payments. Rebate payment in respect of 24 employees was made on 27 November 2001. Inquiries with the company were necessary in respect of seven employees. These cases will be finalised when details requested are provided by the company.
