Vol. 547 No. 2

Written Answers. - Heritage Plans.

John Perry

Question:

132 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage Gaeltacht and the Islands if her attention has been drawn to the fact that an agreement passed by Sligo County Council that an allocation of ?26,957 or £100,000 be made towards the implementation of County Sligo heritage plan; if this fund will be earmarked in the national allocation of moneys; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [2940/02]

At a recent meeting Sligo County Council passed a resolution seeking €126,974 or £100,000 annually from my Department towards the costs of implementing the County Sligo heritage plan. I am not in a position to indicate to the Deputy what arrangements will be put in place to support county-local heritage plans until such time as the proposed national heritage plan has been approved for publication by the Government.
