Vol. 547 No. 2

Written Answers. - Disabled Drivers.

Brian O'Shea

Question:

87 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Finance his proposals to amend the Disabled Drivers and Disabled Passengers (Tax Concessions) Regulations, 1994; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2965/02]

The disabled drivers' and disabled passengers' tax concessions scheme is under review by an interdepartmental group chaired by an official from the Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform. I have not yet received the final report and recommendations of the review group. However, I understand its work is at an advanced stage. Any proposals – whether to widen the scope of the scheme or otherwise – which may emanate from the review group will receive full consideration. Until such time, no amendments to the scheme will be considered.
