Vol. 547 No. 3

Written Answers. - Pensions Plan.

Michael D. Higgins

Question:

122 Mr. M. Higgins asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the situation regarding the Tara Mines Disabled Mineworkers Association regarding the concerns of its members in relation to the Tara Mines pension and income continuance plan; if she has received a reply from the Department of Social, Community and Family Affairs on the issues; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [3185/02]

At a Government meeting last year, it was decided that the Minister for Social, Community and Family Affairs would ask the Pensions Board to review, in consultation with the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment, the position and regulation of income continuance plans and to produce a report on this for the Minister for Social, Community and Family Affairs.

I understand that the Pensions Board is currently progressing that review.
