Vol. 547 No. 4

Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.

David Stanton

Question:

153 Mr. Stanton asked the Minister for Health and Children the number of chronically sick persons awaiting beds in each health board area; the number of beds available in each health board area at present to cater for chronically sick young persons; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3930/02]

The provision of health-related services for the young chronically sick is a matter for the relevant health boards and the information requested by the Deputy is not routinely collected by my Department. Accordingly the Deputy's question has been referred to the chief executive officer of each health board with a request that the matter be examined and that a reply be issued directly to the Deputy, as a matter of urgency.
