Vol. 547 No. 4

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Michael Ring

Question:

168 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage Gaeltacht and the Islands the reason a person (details supplied) in County Mayo did not receive a cull ewe payment for 2001; and when this payment will be made. [3842/02]

According to information provided to my Department, the person mentioned is in the REP scheme. As the ewe compensation scheme run by my Department is an alternative, rather than an addition, to REPS, no payment is due to the person in this instance. If the person only joined REPS during 2001 he should write into Dúchas, the Heritage Service of my Department, confirming the date he joined REPS and my staff will examine his claim to see if he is entitled to a payment for the time he was not in REPS.
