Vol. 548 No. 2

Written Answers. - Anti-Social Behaviour.

Tony Gregory

Question:

360 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will request a report from the Garda authorities regarding the issues raised in correspondence (details supplied) regarding serious anti-social behaviour in Dublin 3. [4362/02]

I am informed by the Garda authorities that Garda management is aware of the issues raised concerning anti-social behaviour by youths attending a disco at the location in question. I am further informed that Garda management has addressed the matter by having extra Garda patrols in the area and responding quickly to any incident that is brought to its attention. I am aware that a number of youths have been arrested in relation to these matters and are currently the subject of investigation. I also understand that an inspector has been appointed to monitor the situation and I am assured that the area continues to receive ongoing Garda attention.
