Question:196 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage Gaeltacht and the Islands the names and addresses of the 135 landowners who were notified in writing of the proposals to designate Monakeeba east bog as a special area of conservation as outlined in the reply to Parliamentary Questions Nos. 319 and 320 of 11 December 2001; the specific plot number for each of the named landowners; if a copy of the notification sent by her to each of the 135 named landowners can be supplied; the reason her agents in Dúchas, between the hours of 19.20 and 20.30 on 23 August 2001 used a garda from Woodford Garda station to telephone a person (details supplied) in County Galway to seek from this person the names and addresses of those who had contracted this person to do the work for Dúchas at Monakeeba east bog, Ballyshrule, Ballinasloe, County Galway, contrary to the Data Protection Act, 1988; the reason the garda asked for and needed to know the names and addresses of those from whom this person had carried out work for on that day; the statutory instrument or Act she used to authorise that activity on her behalf; the statutory instrument or Act her agents in Dúchas used to get a garda from Portumna Garda station to visit Monakeeba east bog on 23 August 2001; and the statutory instrument or Act her agents in Dúchas used to get a garda from Portumna Garda station to visit the home of this person on 23 August 2001.
