Vol. 549 No. 2

Written Answers. - Farm Retirement Scheme.

Jimmy Deenihan

Question:

78 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the reasons a person (details supplied) in County Kerry is in receipt of a reduced early farm retirement pension; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6186/02]

It is a condition of the scheme that the early retirement pension must be reduced by the amount of any national retirement pension paid to the retiring farmer, and also in a joint management application to his or her spouse or partner. In the case of the person named, who was in joint management with her husband, her early retirement pension is reduced by the amount of non-contributory old age pension payable to him since 28 April 2000.
