Vol. 549 No. 3

Written Answers. - Railway Stations.

Austin Currie

Question:

126 Mr. Currie asked the Minister for Public Enterprise the implications and likely outcome of developments at Heuston station for the expansion of the Kildare line service, in particular at Adamstown and Clondalkin; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [6345/02]

In my reply to Parliamentary Ques tion No. 112 which I answered on 19 February 2002, I gave the Deputy details of Iarnród Éireann's plans for upgrading Heuston station as part of the Kildare line development. The precise arrangements for the location of stations along that route are the direct responsibility of Iarnród Éireann. I understand from the company, however, that they are in negotiation with developers along that route on the issue of location and funding of new stations.
