Question:

292 Mr. Timmins asked the Minister for Education and Science the position regarding the application from a school (details supplied) in County Wicklow for extra remedial hours; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6922/02]

The school referred to by the Deputy is currently in receipt of the services of a learning support teacher on a shared basis.

The case made on behalf of the school for additional learning support hours has been noted. The needs of the school will be taken fully into account in the event of additional learning sup port teacher posts becoming available for distribution.

293 Mr. Timmins asked the Minister for Education and Science when a resource teacher will be appointed for a school (details supplied) in County Wicklow; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6923/02]

My Department sanctioned 6.5 hours resource teaching support per week to the school referred to by the Deputy in September 2001 and a further 2.5 hours per week in October 2001.

My Department has no record of any additional request for resource teaching support from the school in question.
