80 Mr. N. Ahern asked the Minister for Finance further to the first loan organised by the State and the statement on documentation at the time that the names of all subscribers would be forever on Ireland's roll of honour, the position regarding a case (details supplied); if a scroll or record of such events is available to those who contributed the loans of their relatives; and if he will consider same. Minister for Finance (Mr. McCreevy):

I am not aware of the case to which the Deputy refers. I have asked my Department to make inquiries with the National Archives and other sources, and to check departmental records to ascertain what records might be available in relation to the names of subscribers to the loan. I will write to the Deputy on the matter.
