Vol. 550 No. 2

Written Answers. - Institutes of Technology.

Brian O'Shea

Question:

584 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Education and Science if, further to Parliamentary Question No. 420 of 26 February 2002, arrangements will be made to have an equitable number of the 1,000 places on the higher diploma in education programme made available at the Waterford Institute of Technology; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [7660/02]

The higher diploma in education programme is offered by five universities: Trinity College Dublin and the four constituent universities of the National University of Ireland at Cork, Dublin, Galway and Maynooth. There is a total of 1,000 places available on the programme at these five universities and there are no plans at present to extend the programme to offer it at other locations.
