Vol. 550 No. 2

Written Answers. - Special Educational Needs.

Jack Wall

Question:

615 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for Education and Science if a special needs assistant will be made available to a person (details supplied) in County Kildare to permit this person to enter the mainstream education system; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [7886/02]

My Department has no record of receiving a request for special needs support for the pupil to which the Deputy refers. My Department's inspectorate has been asked to investigate the pupil's need and report on the matter. Officials in my Department will be in contact with the school authorities when the inspectorate's report has been received and considered.
