Vol. 551 No. 2

Written Answers. - Medical Aids.

Gay Mitchell

Question:

252 Mr. G. Mitchell asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason a person (details supplied) in Dublin 12 will have to wait for two years before this person can receive a bath chair from the health board following a fall in their home; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9817/02]

The provision of dressings and certain aids and appliances such as bath chairs to medical card holders is a matter for the relevant health board or hospital.

My Department has therefore asked the chief executive officer of the South-Western Area Health Board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply directly to the Deputy.
