Vol. 551 No. 4

Written Answers. - Cancer Screening Programme.

Olivia Mitchell

Question:

146 Ms O. Mitchell asked the Minister for Health and Children when a person (details supplied) in Dublin 15 can expect to be called for BreastCheck. [10800/02]

BreastCheck, the national breast screening programme, commenced in March 2000 with phase one of the programme covering the Eastern Regional Health Authority, the Midland Health Board and the North-Eastern Health Board. Screening is being offered free of charge to all women in those areas in the target age group 50 to 64 years of age. Screening takes place on an area by area basis by district electoral division. My Department has asked BreastCheck to investigate the case referred to by the Deputy and reply directly as a matter of urgency.
