Treaty of Amsterdam: Motions.

I move:

That Dáil Éireann approves the exercise by the State of the option or discretion provided by Article 1.11 of the Treaty of Amsterdam to take part in the adoption of the following proposed measure:

a proposal for the Council Framework Decision on combating trafficking in human beings,

a copy of which measure was laid before Dáil Éireann on 7th February, 2002.

That Dáil Éireann approves the exercise by the State of the option or discretion provided by Article 1.11 of the Treaty of Amsterdam to take part in the adoption of the following proposed measure:

a proposal for a Council Framework Decision on the strengthening of the penal framework to prevent the facilitation of unauthorised entry, transit and residence,

a copy of which proposed measure was laid before Dáil Éireann on 27th February, 2002.

That Dáil Éireann approves the exercise by the State of the option provided by Article 4 of the fourth Protocol to the Treaty of Amsterdam, to notify the President of the Council and the Commission that it wishes to accept the following measure after its adoption by the Council:

a proposal for the Council Directive defining the facilitation of unauthorised entry, transit and residence,

a copy of which proposed measure was laid before Dáil Éireann on 27th February, 2002.
