Vol. 552 No. 1

Written Answers. - Departmental Staff.

Michael Noonan

Question:

402 Mr. Noonan asked the Minister for Health and Children the guidelines which are in place for the staff recruitment of physically disabled people in local health boards; if guidelines exist for the recruitment of visually impaired persons; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11964/02]

Responsibility for human resource management, including the recruitment of staff with disabilities, is a matter for each individual health agency. However, the Deputy may wish to note that my Department, with the assistance of the Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform, is working to support all health agencies in meeting the 3% target for the employment of people with disabilities in line with Government policy in this area.
