Question:603 Mrs. Owen asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation the number of lottery grants given out in the last dispersal on a county, club and organisation basis. [11302/02]

The sports capital programme for 2002 was advertised on 25 and 26 November 2001. The closing date for the receipt of completed applications was 4 January 2002. In excess of 1,350 applications were received before the closing date and were evaluated against the programme's assessment criteria, which were outlined in the guidelines, terms and conditions of the programme. On 29 March last I announced provisional grant allocations to 850 projects under the programme.
