Vol. 553 No. 2

Written Answers. - Tax Rebates.

Michael Ring

Question:

219 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Finance when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive a tax rebate. [13199/02]

I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that the taxpayer in question submitted an application for a review of his tax liability for the "short" tax year 2001. The request was submitted to the Castlebar tax office and was transmitted to the Galway tax office where the taxpayer's affairs are dealt with. The Inspector has been in touch with the taxpayer's employer seeking details of his income and tax deducted for the period in question. This information has now been received. The taxpayer's liability will be reviewed and a refund of tax overpaid, if any, will be issued expeditiously.
