Vol. 553 No. 2

Written Answers. - Marine Rescue Equipment.

John Perry

Question:

434 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources if he has received an application for funding from The Irish Underwater Council for a properly established and manned decompression chamber to deal with emergencies; if the funding will be made available; the amount of moneys which have been granted; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [13533/02]

A request for support was received from the Irish Underwater Council by my predecessor and he informed the House that he had asked officials from my Department to meet officials from the Departments of Health and Children, and Tourism, Sport and Recreation. The discussions between the three Departments are ongoing and I will inform the Deputy of the outcome of these in due course.
