Vol. 553 No. 2

Written Answers. - Hospital Services.

Seán Haughey

Question:

555 Mr. Haughey asked the Minister for Health and Children if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the Mater Hospital and Beaumont Hospital in Dublin are now experiencing a serious financial shortfall which will lead to a curtailment of services; if he will provide adequate funding to the Eastern Regional Health Authority to resolve this situation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [13776/02]

Services for eligible patients at the Mater Hospital and Beaumont Hospital are provided under an arrangement with the Eastern Regional Health Authority. My Department has, therefore, asked the regional chief executive of the authority to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and to reply to him directly.
