69 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the position in regard to the number of applications received in respect of farm retirement pension; the number approved, rejected or pending; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14190/02]
A total of 1,147 applications have been received to date under the early retirement scheme 2000, ERS 2. Of these 942 have been approved for payment, 54 have been refused, 147 are currently being processed and four have been withdrawn.
A significant number of the refused applications may yet be approved if deficiencies identified in the application are rectified.
