Michael Ring

Question:

301 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children his plans to implement the recommendations of the report, Diabetes: Securing the Future; when he received this report; if he has considered it in full; his plans in this regard; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14567/02]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 266 and 301 together.

My Department received the report referred to by the Deputies at the end of March. A meeting was then arranged between officials of my Department and the Diabetes Federation of Ireland. The meeting took place on 22 May at which the report was discussed. The DFI was informed that the report would be considered in the context of the current health strategy Quality and Fairness – A Health System for You and within the limits of available funding.
Question No. 267 answered with Question No. 265.
